The Quickest Way to Remove Soda/Pop Stains from Carpet

Accidents happen in our everyday busy life and when they do, sometimes the stains are hard to remove from the carpet. A particularly hard stain to remove is soda because they are sticky and full of sugars that get attached deep into the fibers of your carpet. Have no fear though, the quickest methods to remove soda stains can be found in your very laundry room.

All you need to remove the stains are the following ingredients and to follow the steps listed below:
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Liquid Laundry detergent
  • Water
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  • Carpet Cleaner

1.) The first step to removing a soda stain is to blot the affected area as much as possible. Use a clean cloth try to blot the area to remove as much liquid as possible. Work from the outer corners of the stain and work your way to the center to avoid spreading. Avoid using excessive pressure as this may cause the stain to absorb deeper in the fibers of the carpet.

2.) Mix a ½ cup of water with a ¼ of cup of liquid laundry detergent. You can pour the mixture directly onto the stain or use a spray bottle to distribute the mixture onto the stain. Once this is done allow the area to dry fully.

3.) To help get rid of any dry residue vacuum the area thoroughly after the stain is completely dried. By vacuuming the affected area, you will not only help with dissolving the stain, but you will help fluff the carpet and return it to its original state.

4.) If the carpet stain remains visible you may need to try a carpet stain remover to get the stain out of the carpet fibers even more.
