A soapy solution and water will usually be the most convenient and easiest carpet cleaning method for most homeowners. To use liquid dish soap, mix about a teaspoon with each cup of warm water and wipe with a cloth.
Vinegar can also be used.
The natural acidity of vinegar tends to dissolve dirt, so many people prefer vinegar-based solutions. Usually, 2 tablespoons of vinegar can be added to 4 cups of warm water. Use a clean cloth to wipe the area.

4. Final touches
To absorb any additional moisture after the stain has been removed, lay a clean cloth or paper towel over the area.
